Overview of NamDM
The Namibia Disciple-making Movement (NamDM) was born out of the necessity to address unique challenges faced by Namibian churches in their mission to make disciples, aligned with the Biblical mandate from Matthew 28:19-20. Initially rooted in the African Strategic Discipleship Movement (ASDM), part of SIM International’s ministry, NamDM adapted the ASDM strategy to suit Namibia’s specific contexts and denominations.
The movement began with the Evangelical Bible Church (EBC), establishing a dedicated training team for discipleship, and gradually expanded to other churches.
Since 2019, regular training sessions for pastors have been held every three months, each spanning two days. Despite setbacks caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the movement continued to grow with God’s grace. Today, NamDM thrives as a collaborative effort, uniting numerous churches across Namibia to advance disciple-Making and strengthen their spiritual mission.
About us
Our Vision
We desire to see every believer growing to the likeness of Christ, fostering discipleship from their personal daily walk with the Lord, to their family and reaching out to the community to bring the message of hope, share love and caring for the vulnerable.
Our Mission
NamDM mission is to equip Namibian churches to cultivate mature disciples of Jesus Christ through intentional disciple-making strategies. The movement aims to mobilize and train churches for discipleship, nurturing spiritual maturity, and evangelizing the world. NamDM fosters collaboration among various denominations, encouraging believers to connect and work towards the common goal of making disciples of all nations, following the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Core values and Principles
We aim to obey the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ, as stated in Matthew 28:18-20, by following His model of making disciples designed by Himself at the beginning of His ministry, as recorded in Mark 1:17: “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people.” This discipleship movement is strongly emphasized in six areas of biblical understanding and personal character responding to God:
-
Biblical: We teach nothing but biblical truth (2 Timothy 3:16).
-
Intentional: We do it with the passion of desiring all to grow to the likeness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13).
-
Relational: We walk together as a family with love and caring for one another (John 13:34-35).
-
Transformational: A disciple’s life should be transformed to Christ’s likeness (Romans 12:2).
-
Missional: It’s our responsibility to share the gospel for the lost souls to be saved by believing in Jesus Christ (Mark 16:15).
-
Multiplication: Each disciple should multiply to many disciples (2 Timothy 2:2).
